Goddard observes Earth Hour

On Saturday, March 28th tens of millions of people in more than 240 cities around the world came together to make a bold statement about their concern for climate change by doing something quite simple-turning off their lights for one hour. World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour symbolizes that by working together each of us can make a positive impact in the fight against climate change. Here in the U.S. it sends a message that Americans care about this issue and stand with the rest of the world in seeking to find solutions to the escalating climate crisis. The Goddard School launched an entire week of activities and lesson plans to celebrate in a big way the Stepping Up for the Environment event on March 27th.

"We were all delighted to be a part of such a wonderful project. The teachers did a wonderful job explaining to the children ways they can help save our environment. We had many special guest come to our school and read to the children by flashlight. It was such a wonderful way for the community to come together....The teachers and children were anticipating a lot of fun and a great learning experience."
